📅 Best Time to Visit Northern Pakistan — Season by Season

Timing your northern Pakistan trip correctly makes an enormous difference to your experience. This guide breaks down the best time to visit each major region.

Spring (March-May)

Cherry and apricot blossoms transform Hunza Valley into a pink and white wonderland — late March to mid-April is peak blossom season. Lower altitude routes (Murree, Swat) are accessible; high passes (Babusar, Khunjerab) remain closed.

Summer (June-August)

Peak season for all northern destinations. All passes open including Babusar and Khunjerab. Deosai National Park is only accessible July-September. Most crowded but most reliable weather.

Autumn (September-October)

Stunning golden foliage, especially in Hunza. Fewer crowds than summer. Most routes remain accessible through October, though high passes may close earlier in cold years.

Winter (November-February)

Most northern routes close due to snow. Murree and lower hill stations remain accessible and become popular for snow tourism. The KKH may remain partially open but conditions vary year to year.
