🌿 Naran Kaghan Valley Complete Guide

Naran Kaghan is one of Pakistan's most accessible and beloved mountain valleys — close enough for a weekend trip, beautiful enough to justify a longer stay.

Getting There

240km from Islamabad via Mansehra, taking 5-6 hours. The road is generally good condition though can be congested during peak summer weekends.

Saiful Muluk Lake

The crown jewel of Kaghan Valley — a glacial lake surrounded by peaks, reachable by jeep (4x4 required) from Naran town in about 45 minutes.

Babusar Top

At 4,173m, Babusar Pass connects Kaghan Valley to Chilas on the KKH — a spectacular high-altitude drive open only in summer (typically July-September), requiring a 4x4.

Where to Stay

Naran town has the widest range of accommodation. Kaghan and Shogran offer quieter alternatives. Book ahead during peak summer (June-August) as accommodation fills quickly.

Best Time to Visit

May-October. June-August offers warmest weather and full access to Babusar Top. The road typically closes November-April due to heavy snowfall.
