Day trips (Taxila, Murree): no special preparation needed. Weekend trips (Naran, Neelum): pack for 2-3 days, bring warm layers. Multi-week tours (full northern circuit): plan carefully, book vehicles well in advance.

Best Season for Different Routes

Murree and lower hill stations: year-round, though winter can have snow. Naran, Swat: May to October. Hunza, Skardu: April to November, with June-August being peak season. Khunjerab, Deosai: only July-September.

What to Pack

For any northern trip: warm layers (temperatures drop fast at altitude), sun protection, comfortable walking shoes, and a basic first aid kit. For multi-day trips, bring cash as ATMs are scarce beyond Gilgit.
